Welcome to Springfield’s local homeschool lending library
The SACHL Library
(Springfield Academic Curriculum Homeschool Lending Library)

WHAT’S AVAILABLE?
A Beka, Bob Jones, Rod & Staff, Sonlight, Konos, Saxon, Apologia, Progeny Press, and many other well-known homeschooling curriculum. Our inventory includes student readers, student textbooks, teacher’s manuals, answer keys, homeschool how-to books, videos and other support materials.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
To get started, there is a $3 card fee. After that, you pay a $1 lending fee per item. Materials that you want to renew also have a $1 per item lending fee. We are only able to accept cash or checks with proper identification. The money that we charge for membership cards and rental fees is all used for necessary library expenses, such as our online catalog, website fees, damaged or outdated inventory replacement, processing supplies for new donations and occasionally, to purchase high-demand books. All of our volunteers are homeschooling mothers that give their time to make this special project a reality.
Although you may check out materials from the library throughout the year, ALL items must be returned to the SACHL Library by June; the only exception would be for those items checked out in the preceding month of May – the lending library’s Early Bird Check Out Month. All materials must be physically returned – even the books you hope to renew – before you can check out new books (renewal restrictions apply). Before coming to the library, look over the list of items that are checked out to your account. If you have misplaced your paper copy, you can view the list for your account located under the “Catalog” tab, click the “My Account” tab. Enter your last name and then the card number (located either on the bottom or on the back of your library card). Your fellow homeschool families are waiting for the items you have in your possession. If materials are not returned on time, late fees will apply. Please do not put your borrowing privileges at risk.
WHEN ARE YOU OPEN?
Our regularly scheduled hours are: Tuesday afternoons from 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. year round except for the following time periods: Thanksgiving week; Christmas week; New Year’s week; BBC’s Spring Break and BBC’s Graduation Week. Our inclement weather closures will coincide with the Baptist Bible College’s and Springfield Public School System’s media closing announcements. If either of these entities is closed due to bad weather, the SACHL Library will be closed also.
Since we are located inside the G.B. Vick Memorial Library, SACHLL will not be open whenever the college library is closed on Tuesdays for special events. If you have any questions or need more information, please contact us directly at volunteers@sachll.org. Do not contact BBC for any reason. They are only providing the space for the library and do not have any information.
WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?
The SACHL Library is located on the first floor of the G.B.Vick Memorial Library on the campus of Baptist Bible College at 628 E. Kearney Street, Springfield, Missouri. Once you enter the campus library through the main entrance (this brings you to the second floor), turn left and use the elevator down to the first floor. Please remember that this building houses a college library and to proceed through it as quietly as possible. SACHLL is in the room to your right as you get off the elevator. Follow the hallway around to the entrance. DO NOT call or contact anyone at the campus library or Baptist Bible College. No one there can answer any questions concerning the Lending Library and we do not want to disrupt their work. We are very grateful for their generous support and would like to show them our respect. Contact us directly for information at volunteers@sachll.org.

WHERE DO I PARK?
The G.B.Vick Memorial Library is the building #5 on the map below. DO NOT PARK in the lot reserved for the World Mission Service Center #4 on the map. This is NOT an option. Honor them by being mindful of the need for each parking space in their lot. DO NOT park in any reserved or restricted areas. There are a few spaces in front of the library which are marked for 2-hour parking. You may park there, in the parking lot across Kearney Street or on Pierce Avenue, in back of the building. Parking in restricted areas will result in a parking ticket for you plus a wounded reputation for homeschoolers and all of the SACHL Library users.
